Chaya Japanese Cuisine!!

The name "Chaya" means a rest stop where travelers get rest and light meal in feudal Japan

We hope our Chaya could serve as a place for refreshments along your long journey of life

Since its opening in November, 2001, Chaya has been crowded with Japanese cuisine lovers.

Due to its popularity and excellence, it is featured as Best New Casual Restaurant  in the Pittsburgh Magazine  June, 2003

These are no accidents. It is Yasu's, the chef and manager's goal to share authentic Japanese food with the American crowd. Usually Japanese food is associated with high prices. In order to reach out to wider audience, Yasu proves the equation "Japanese Cuisine = Expensive" wrong

Chaya's price range starts as low as $10 for entree, and as high as $80 or more. What is worth noting is the fact that Chaya's food is served with "American" quantity while made with close to 100% Japanese taste.

"We serve the same dishes as restaurants in Japan; same quality, but 1.5 times in quantity," says Yasu proudly

Why does he try so hard?? It is all meant to accomodate a wide variety of audiences with various dining needs except one:

"The love of Japanese food!!"
